Manisa municipality seed program spurs crop growth

The Manisa Metropolitan Municipality's "Destek Bizden Hasat Sizden" project distributed more than 524 000 kg of wheat, barley and fodder seeds to 1 906 farmers across the province in 2025. The seeds germinated with the spring rains, and field visits by the Rural Services Department confirmed healthy sprouting and early yields.

Farmers expressed satisfaction, with Yayakırıldık neighbourhood muhtar Mehmet Kahraman noting the aid was "an important morale boost for the growers" despite some cold‑weather setbacks. Producer Hakkı Işık praised the seed quality, saying, "Our fields look very good and we are happy with the result." Another farmer, Mehmet Erçetin, urged the municipality to continue the support, emphasizing its role in reducing input costs and sustaining production.

The initiative aims to lower agricultural input expenses, increase productivity and promote sustainable farming in the region.
