Manisa Ultra Marathon to feature volcanic and ancient routes
The Manisa Metropolitan Municipality is organizing the Manisa Ultra Marathon, scheduled to take place from November 20 to 22, 2026. The event features routes that traverse both volcanic landscapes and ancient historical sites.
Participants will run through the Kula Divlits, located within a UNESCO Global Geopark, and through the Sardis Ancient City, which holds traces of the Lydian civilization. The marathon offers various distances to accommodate different skill levels:
• Kula: 55km (Katakekaumene), 35km (Vulcanus), and 10km (Divlit). • Salihli Sart Ancient City: 18km (Tmolos) and 7km (Gyges).
Registration is now open. Race kit distribution will begin on November 20, with staggered pickup times on the following days based on the specific course. Athletes participating in the 55km and 35km routes in Kula are required to provide a medical report and a license.
