Manisa water resources and environmental protection urged

Fatih Köse, President of the Düşünce Rotası Association, has issued a call for long-term, holistic policies to protect water resources and address environmental issues in Manisa. Highlighting the region's importance as a production hub for agriculture and industry, Köse emphasized that economic development must be balanced with the preservation of natural resources.

Köse specifically called for increased water savings in agricultural irrigation through the widespread adoption of modern irrigation methods and support for producers transitioning to water-saving systems. He also stressed the need to prevent pollution in the Gediz Basin.

Regarding environmental responsibility, Köse stated that protecting the environment is a collective duty involving public institutions, industrial organizations, universities, NGOs, and citizens. He advocated for better waste management, increased recycling, and the protection of natural areas, noting that clean air, water, and an environment are rights rather than luxuries.
