Manisa woman dies after being strangled by husband

A 50-year-old woman, Hacer Saydan, has died in a hospital after being attacked by her husband in the Turgutlu district of Manisa. The incident occurred on a Friday morning at their residence following an argument.

According to reports, Sait Saydan, 53, attempted to strangle his wife with his hands. After Hacer Saydan lost consciousness, Sait Saydan contacted emergency services. She was transported to Turgutlu State Hospital, where she underwent treatment but succumbed to her injuries one day later.

Sait Saydan was initially detained and subsequently arrested by a court on charges of ‘attempted intentional murder’. The couple had been married for 30 years and had three children. The deceased was buried in the Sart neighborhood of Salihli.
