Spain implements various healthcare infrastructure upgrades

Various healthcare infrastructure projects and renovations are underway across Spain. In Andalusia, the Pabellón Virgilio Castilla in Granada is set to open in October as a Mental Health Integration and Recovery Center, following a five-million-euro investment. This facility will accommodate 120 patients transferred from Huétor Vega and eventually expand to hold up to 200 patients.

In Málaga, the renovated former Hospital Pascual is scheduled to welcome its first patients in the second half of November 2026. The first phase includes 16 outpatient consultation rooms and a Continuity of Care Unit. A second phase, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027, will add a hospitalization ward with 42 rooms and endoscopy services, supported by a 6.5-million-euro investment.

Other regional updates include the modernization of the Intensive Care, Emergency, and Radiodiagnostic units at Hospital La Inmaculada in Almería, and an expansion of the emergency area at the Hospital de Hellín in Castilla-La Mancha to meet rising demand. Additionally, the urbanization of the site for a new health center in Alberite, La Rioja, has been completed, paving the way for a 9-million-euro construction project. In the Valencia region, eight health centers in the Manises area will receive accessibility upgrades, including new elevators and automatic doors, funded by regional and European resources.
