Manitoba memorial adds name of impaired driving victim

A memorial in West St. Paul, Manitoba, has added a new name to its granite monument honoring victims of impaired driving. Robbie Anderson, who died in a 2016 collision involving an impaired driver, was commemorated ten years after his passing.

During a ceremony held at the Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery, family members and officials gathered to honor Anderson alongside 85 other victims. His brother, Chris Anderson, described the experience as “heavy” but expressed gratitude for the support provided by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Canada.

MADD Canada organizes these annual ceremonies across the country to provide a space for grieving families to connect. The organization has established monuments in eight provinces, with a new one planned for Prince Edward Island.
