Manitoba Progressive Conservatives reduce annual deficit to $505,000

The Progressive Conservative (PC) Party of Manitoba reported a $505,024 deficit for the 2025 calendar year, according to annual returns filed with Elections Manitoba. While the party remains in debt, this represents an improvement from the $689,000 deficit reported in 2024. PC President Peter Smith stated the party has paid down more than $1 million in debt since the 2023 election and expects to be debt-free by the end of the year.

Financial recovery efforts included the $600,000 sale of the party’s former Kennedy Street headquarters to Wally Daudrich. Daudrich, who was the party’s top donor in 2025 with personal and family contributions totaling over $32,000, has since left the party and joined the Keystone Party after being barred from seeking a nomination in the Turtle Mountain constituency.

In comparison, the governing New Democratic Party (NDP) reported a $1.4-million surplus for the same period, having raised $955,000. The PCs reported total revenue of approximately $552,000 to $586,000 depending on the filing details, while managing liabilities including bank indebtedness and accounts payable.
