Manitoba services announce Thanksgiving Day holiday hours

Various municipal and public services in Brandon and Winnipeg will observe modified schedules or closures for Thanksgiving Day on October 12, 2026.

In Brandon, City Hall, the A. R. McDiarmid Civic Complex, the Civic Services Complex, the Parks Complex, and the Eastview Landfill will be closed. The Brandon Community Sportsplex and the Brandon Youth Centre are also scheduled to close. Brandon Transit will operate with reduced hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., though the Transit Information Centre will be closed.

In Winnipeg, civic, provincial, and federal offices will be closed, and there will be no mail delivery. While Canada Post offices are closed, private sector post offices within host businesses may remain open. Winnipeg Transit will follow a Sunday schedule. Recycling and garbage collection will proceed as usual, and the Brady Road landfill will remain open, though certain 4R depots will be closed. Winnipeg Public Library branches will also be closed for the holiday.
