Manizales, Colombia and Petit, Venezuela hold community culture awareness events

In Manizales, Colombia, the Secretaría de Cultura y Civismo organized a day of sensitization in the historic centre, using artistic interventions to promote respect, safe mobility and proper waste disposal. Alexander Rodríguez, head of the Civilidad Unit, said the activities aim to transform everyday behaviours through community‑focused pedagogy.

In the municipality of Petit, Venezuela, Mayor José Ángel Curiel and municipal official Johana Rodríguez hosted a conversational workshop titled “What is Culture and what are our rights?” The session educated children about cultural rights under national law and encouraged respect for diversity, aiming to strengthen identity and social development among youth.

Both initiatives reflect local government efforts to foster civic culture and citizen participation through education and the arts.
