Manjaro releases 26.1.1 update with Linux kernel 7.2

Manjaro has released version 26.1.1, the first major update in its current ‘Bian-May’ series. The update introduces several significant component upgrades, most notably the addition of Linux kernel 7.2 to the officially supported lineup. Other supported kernels include versions 7.1.9 and various long-term support (LTS) branches such as 6.1, 6.6, 6.12, and 6.18.

Developers noted that these kernel updates may resolve previous AMDGPU regressions. However, users are cautioned that kernel series 6.16, 6.17, 6.19, and 7.0 have reached end-of-life status and should be replaced with supported versions.

Desktop environment updates include KDE Frameworks 6.29 and an optional migration path to the new Plasma Login Manager for SDDM users. The GNOME edition features visual improvements for Papirus icon theme users via a new Folder Colorizer extension. Additional software updates include Mesa 26.1.7, QEMU 11.1.0, VirtualBox 7.2.16, Firefox 154, and Thunderbird 153.0.2.
