Mexico announces 20 new industrial parks under Plan Mexico

President Claudia Sheinbaum announced the development of 20 new industrial parks across eight Mexican states as part of the 'Plan Mexico' strategy. This expansion, supported by the Mexican Association of Private Industrial Parks (AMPIP), represents an investment of approximately $763 million and is projected to create over 32,000 jobs.

The new developments cover 4.6 million square meters and are expected to accommodate roughly 175 companies. The parks will be distributed across several strategic corridors: 10 in the Northern Border (Coahuila and Nuevo León), five in the AIFA corridor (Mexico City and Estado de México), three in the Bajío region (Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, and Querétaro), and two in Baja California.

With this announcement, the federal government has reached 40% of its goal to develop 100 industrial parks during the current administration. AMPIP President David O’Donnell noted that these projects aim to strengthen supply chains in sectors such as automotive parts, medical devices, aerospace, and electronics, enhancing Mexico's competitiveness within North America.
