Manlio Fabio Beltrones calls for national reconciliation and security reforms in Mexico

Mexican Senator Manlio Fabio Beltrones has called for a long-term government vision and national reconciliation to address simultaneous crises in economic growth, public health, education, and security. Beltrones criticized the continued subsidization of large-scale projects inherited from the previous administration, such as the Tren Maya, Mexicana de Aviación, and AIFA, noting that approximately 250 billion pesos are being used to maintain them instead of investing in urban infrastructure, hospitals, or schools.

Regarding international relations, Beltrones urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) to clarify that Mexico provides no protection to politicians or individuals linked to organized crime. This follows tensions with the United States and accusations against officials like Rubén Rocha Moya and Enrique Inzunza Cázarez. He emphasized the need for better coordination between Mexican security forces (Sedena, Semar, and SSPC) and increased information sharing with U.S. authorities to prevent impunity.

In the State of Mexico, the PRI Parliamentary Group has proposed the immediate installation of a State Security Table for the 2026-2027 electoral process to prevent violence and threats against political candidates.
