Mannheim calls on residents to water trees during July heat

The city of Mannheim urges citizens to assist municipal crews in keeping young street trees hydrated amid an ongoing heatwave. Residents are asked to use watering cans or hoses, applying tap or rain water once a week rather than daily, to encourage deep root absorption. Mayor Prof. Dr. Diana Pretzell thanked volunteers, noting that each extra watering can help trees survive the high temperatures.
