Mannheim Chamber of Crafts crowns 25 new masters in sanitary, heating and climate trade

The Handwerkskammer Mannheim Rhein‑Neckar‑Odenwald awarded master certifications to 25 candidates after examinations held at its educational academy in Mannheim. The master exam in the sanitary, heating and climate trade combines practical and theoretical components, requiring candidates to plan, calculate, install, commission and document building‑technical systems for a real‑world client project. The written portion covers safety, maintenance technology, plant engineering, order processing and business management.

Chairman of the examination board Markus Kagermann stressed the rigor of the qualification, stating, “Der Meistertitel ist das höchste im Handwerk zu erreichende Gut; er ist denen vorbehalten, die sich mit Standhaftigkeit, Struktur, Passion und Liebe fürs Detail der jeweiligen Herausforderung widmen.” Alexander Dirks, head of the master‑exam division, noted that the new masters are prepared for leadership roles, self‑employment and apprentices’ training. Project manager Simon Dörrer highlighted the importance of personal presentation and the challenge of the electrical and device‑technology practical sections.

The qualification covers a wide skill set—from gas, water, air and heat supply to drinking‑water hygiene, exhaust technology, energy efficiency, building‑control and digital regulation—ensuring that the masters can take on both technical and managerial responsibilities in the HVAC sector.
