Mannheim councilman proposes swinger party at city hall
Julien Ferrat, a 35-year-old city council member for the Die Mannheimer group in Mannheim, Germany, is proposing to host a swinger party at the Mannheim City Hall. Ferrat describes himself as a “politician you can touch” and argues that the event would represent an extreme form of direct citizen engagement.
According to Ferrat, approximately 50 individuals have already expressed interest via email and social media. He has stated that those he does not know personally will be required to attend a mandatory group sex training session. While Ferrat prefers the city hall due to its central location, he noted that if the administration refuses to provide the space, he will organize the event in private premises.
Ferrat contends that there are no municipal regulations or house rules explicitly prohibiting such an event in the building. He has indicated a willingness to take the matter to court, potentially reaching the Federal Constitutional Court, if the city administration blocks his plans. This follows a previous initiative in 2025 where he organized a political educational trip to Cap d’Agde, a well-known European swinger destination.
