Mannheim educational academy hosts Day of the Crafts event

The Handwerkskammer Mannheim Rhein-Neckar-Odenwald is hosting an open house at its educational academy on Saturday, September 19, to mark the national Day of the Crafts. The event, which runs from 10:00 to 16:00, invites the public to explore 40 workshops and training rooms located in Mannheim.

Visitors can participate in practical activities across twelve different trades, including masonry, pastry decorating, and virtual welding using VR technology. The academy also features various challenges with prizes, such as timed tire changes and bread braiding, as well as demonstrations like Italian gelato making. The event serves as an opportunity for interested individuals to learn about apprenticeship possibilities and for new trainees to celebrate their first year of training.
