Mannheim hosts third annual literary reading project

The third edition of the “Mannheim liest ein Buch” project took place in November 2024. The initiative selects a work of contemporary German-language literature that addresses socially relevant themes to foster public debate.

For this year, the jury selected Shida Bazyar’s 2021 novel “Drei Kameradinnen”. The month-long program included various readings, discussions, and events, featuring the author herself. The project is a collaborative effort involving several Mannheim institutions, including the University of Mannheim’s Faculty of Humanities, the National Theatre, the City Library, and the city's cultural office.
