Manny Pacquiao in negotiations for fight against Joe Cordina
Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, 47, is nearing a return to the ring in a potential bout against British fighter Joe Cordina. Negotiations for the match are underway to take place in Cardiff, Wales, as part of a major event card headlined by a heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that Cordina’s team has reached a formal agreement regarding financial terms and the purse. However, Hearn noted that the fight is not yet finalized, as it awaits official ratification from Pacquiao’s camp.
Cordina, 34, is a former two-time super featherweight world champion with a professional record of 19 wins, one loss, and nine knockouts. He recently moved up to the lightweight division, securing two victories in 2025. The Welsh fighter was previously cleared of assault charges earlier this week, resolving legal issues that had hindered his ability to travel to the United States for a scheduled bout in July.
