Manny Pacquiao potential opponents proposed for Fury-Joshua undercard

Promoter Eddie Hearn has proposed several potential opponents for Manny Pacquiao to feature on the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua undercard at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. The shortlist includes Jack Catterall, Conah Walker, Lewis Crocker, and Joe Cordina.

Trainer Robert Garcia has identified Joe Cordina as a “perfect” opponent for the 47-year-old Pacquiao. Garcia noted that Cordina offers significant global appeal without the massive commercial costs associated with larger names. However, a matchup with Cordina would require the Welsh former two-time world champion to move up two weight classes to welterweight.

Cordina’s participation remains subject to legal developments, as he is currently facing trial following an assault charge. While Hearn has suggested Cordina could also fight Abdullah Mason at lightweight, the Pacquiao matchup presents a different commercial opportunity. A decision regarding Pacquiao’s involvement in the event is expected soon.
