Manny Pacquiao prioritizes poverty alleviation and regional NAPC offices

Manny Pacquiao, Secretary and lead convenor of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), has announced plans to establish regional offices to bring the agency’s programs closer to grassroots communities. Speaking at the Mindanao Development Forum 2026 in Davao City, Pacquiao stated that the expansion aims to increase the agency's visibility and effectiveness in reaching those in need.

His primary objectives include securing sustainable livelihoods, improving housing, and supporting education for low-income families. Pacquiao emphasized the importance of strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to drive job creation and economic development. He specifically identified areas such as Davao, South Cotabato, Agusan, Zamboanga, and Marawi as regions requiring assistance.

To support these initiatives, the NAPC intends to seek investments from both domestic and international businesses through public-private partnerships and development financing. Regarding his political future, Pacquiao noted that he is not currently considering a bid for the 2028 elections, stating his focus remains on public service, his family, and his businesses.
