Manny Yekutiel drops out of San Francisco supervisor race
Manny Yekutiel has withdrawn from the San Francisco District 8 supervisor race following new allegations of sexual assault. The decision comes after reports surfaced involving an incident at a Pride party in June 2023, where Ryan Clark and his partner alleged Yekutiel grabbed them inappropriately.
Yekutiel denied the assault allegations, stating that while he does not recall the specific encounter, he is sorry for any boundaries he may have crossed. He noted that some claims made against him are fundamentally untrue.
The withdrawal followed a rapid loss of political support. Mayor Daniel Lurie, a prominent former supporter, withdrew his endorsement, stating that the new accounts impacted his confidence in Yekutiel’s character. Other endorsements from city supervisors, labor unions, and advocacy groups like GrowSF were also rescinded. This follows a previous allegation of sexual assault made by Brad Chapin in June 2020.
