Manoguayabo man sentenced to 20 years for homicide
Arle Isaac Celado has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the homicide of Romer Sánchez in the Manoguayabo sector. The Third Collegiate Court of Santo Domingo Oeste issued the ruling after the Public Ministry demonstrated that Celado attacked Sánchez with a knife.
The incident occurred on April 26, 2025, in the Tanque Azul sector. According to prosecutors, the confrontation began after Sánchez attempted to approach Celado to ask about a perceived “bad look” from the previous night. During the encounter, Celado stabbed Sánchez in the neck and left side, near the armpit. Although Sánchez was transported for medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries.
Evidence presented during the trial included an autopsy report from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), which confirmed the cause of death as penetrating sharp-force wounds. The judges ordered Celado to serve his sentence at the Najayo Hombres Correction and Rehabilitation Center in San Cristóbal.
