Manoj Bajpayee discusses upcoming film Last Man in Tower
Actors Manoj Bajpayee and Divya Dutta, alongside director Ben Rekhi, recently discussed their upcoming film, ‘Last Man in Tower’, during promotions in Mumbai. The film, an adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s novel, is set to release on September 11.
Bajpayee, who portrays Yogesh Mishra, a retired schoolteacher caught in a redevelopment dispute, noted that he prioritizes character depth and nuance over the specific age he portrays. He mentioned that he made a rare exception to his usual practice of not reading source material by studying Adiga’s novel to better understand the depiction of Mumbai's redevelopment.
Divya Dutta, playing Mrs. Sangeeta Puri, described her role as a complex character shaped by personal challenges and communication gaps within her family. The film is produced by Spirit Media and features a screenplay by Sooni Taraporevala.
