Manoj Bajpayee to portray Mahatma Gandhi in Sudhir Mishra film

Actor Manoj Bajpayee is set to portray Mahatma Gandhi for the first time in an upcoming film directed by Sudhir Mishra. The project, produced by Anubhav Sinha’s Benaras Media Works and presented by NH Studioz, focuses on a specific, lesser-known 21-day period in Gandhi’s life during India’s independence.

Director Sudhir Mishra described the narrative as an exploration of the personal journey of a leader redefining his path at a time when the nation was gaining freedom and Delhi was emerging as a center of power. The film aims to depict the motivations behind Gandhi’s decision to walk away from the center of power during that era.

Saurabh Shukla has also joined the cast. The production marks a return to theatrical features for Mishra, who is approaching four decades in Hindi cinema.
