Manoj Kumar Dwivedi named Chairperson of New Delhi Municipal Council

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued an order on 5 August 2026 appointing senior IAS officer Manoj Kumar Dwivedi as Chairperson of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). Dwivedi, a 1997‑batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, will hold the post until further orders. The notification, signed by Joint Secretary Praveen Kumar Rai, directs that bilingual notices be published in the Delhi Gazette and copies be sent to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, the Chief Secretary of NCT Delhi and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Dwivedi’s career includes senior roles in Jammu and Kashmir—Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department, Commissioner/Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Secretary of Health and Medical Education, Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, Rajouri and Leh, and two terms as Additional CEO of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. At the centre he has served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and as Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training. He holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi and further qualifications from IIM and Cambridge.
