Manoj Sinha inaugurates multidisciplinary programmes at Cluster University Jammu

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha opened a suite of new academic initiatives at Cluster University Jammu. The launch included the "Design Your Degree" programme, allowing students to combine subjects across disciplines, and integrated science courses in physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, mathematics and geography. A semiconductor skilling programme was introduced in partnership with IIT Madras to equip graduates with industry‑relevant skills. The university also unveiled a Department of Vedic Studies, a one‑year postgraduate diploma in Sanatan Dharma and Indian Knowledge Systems, a postgraduate programme in Environmental Sciences with a renewable‑energy minor, and a diploma in Dogri translation. Sinha highlighted the need for multidisciplinary learning to address complex challenges such as climate change and to foster innovative solutions.

He emphasized that the 21st century will belong to youth capable of integrating knowledge from multiple fields, balancing modern technology with India’s civilisational heritage.
