Manoj Sinha lays foundation stone for Mata Lalleshwari heritage centre

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha laid the foundation stone for the Mata Lalleshwari Cultural Cum Heritage Centre at Mata Bhaderkali Asthapan in Thalwal. The project, sanctioned under the Capex budget with an allocation of Rs 4.5 crore, is designed to preserve and promote the legacy of the 14th-century Kashmiri mystic poet and saint, Yogini Lalleshwari.

The centre is intended to serve as a repository for the region’s spiritual and cultural heritage, facilitating academic research, art, and spiritual tourism. Planned facilities include exhibitions, archival services, and translation initiatives, alongside fostering fellowships in Kashmir Shaivism.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha stated that the centre aims to promote social harmony, national integration, and economic revitalization by attracting historians and travelers globally. He emphasized that the institution will act as a living repository of Lalleshwari’s philosophy, which emphasizes tolerance, equality, and inner transformation.
