Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas appoints new cabinet members and pushes Coahuila gas project
Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas of Coahuila announced a cabinet reshuffle, naming Hugo Dávila as secretary of Development Regional of the Laguna and Jorge Alberto Piñones as coordinator of Mejora Coahuila. He said the changes aim to strengthen state administration and improve public services.
The governor also declared that Coahuila is ready to work with the federal government on the "Gas Coahuila" project, a non‑conventional natural‑gas deposit identified by a committee of scientists as the richest in the country. The plan seeks to reduce dependence on U.S. gas imports, create jobs and generate economic spill‑over in the Centro, Carbonífera and Norte regions, while using sustainable technologies and protecting the environment.
