Manoly Baquerizo nears historic UEFA Women’s Champions League debut
Manoly Baquerizo, a defender for Paris FC, is poised to become the first Ecuadorian woman to compete in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The 27-year-old left-back, originally from Guayaquil, joined the French club following a career that included playing in the United States and Spain.
Following the UEFA draw, Paris FC is scheduled to face Arsenal, Häcken, HB Køge, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Servette in the tournament. While Baquerizo is part of the squad, the historic milestone will be officially confirmed once she makes her first appearance on the pitch during a match.
Baquerizo’s professional journey includes stints at Clayton State University in the U.S., followed by several seasons in Spain with Cacereño, Deportivo Alavés, and Granada. She is a prominent figure for the Ecuadorian national team.
