Manon Aubry hospitalized after viper bite
Manon Aubry, a European Parliament member for La France Insoumise (LFI), has been hospitalized following a viper bite. The politician shared the news on social media, noting that she experienced complications related to envenomation and required treatment in both the emergency department and intensive care.
Due to the injury, Aubry must keep her leg immobilized. This has forced her to cancel her participation in the LFI summer universities for young militants (AMFIS jeunes) in the Drôme region. However, she intends to attend the party's official autumn relaunch near Valence, albeit with limited mobility.
While sharing the news, Aubry used the incident to praise the public hospital system and expressed her commitment to fighting for better resources for healthcare workers. Medical experts note that while viper bites occur in France, there are fewer than 300 such cases recorded annually in mainland France.
