Manor Solomon sparks controversy following Ireland fixture

West Ham United supporters are divided following controversial comments and on-pitch incidents involving Israel international Manor Solomon during a recent Ireland fixture in Debrecen.

During the match, Ireland players reportedly bowed their heads during the Israeli national anthem and declined standard pre-match interactions. Following the game, Solomon criticized the Irish team, stating he feared suspension if he shared his full opinion, and described the relationship between the teams as openly hostile. He also defended his pride in Israel and its military.

Solomon was reportedly involved in heated exchanges with Ireland defender Jake O’Brien during the match. The controversy has reignited debates among West Ham fans regarding Solomon’s political views and his previous mandatory military service in the Israel Defence Forces.
