Manors Day events held at historic estates in North Jutland

Denmark's Manors Day (Herregårdenes Dag) is taking place on Sunday, August 16, featuring various historic estates and castles across North Jutland. The event aims to highlight the historical significance of Denmark's more than 700 manors, which have traditionally been major employers in rural areas.

Participating locations include Ellinggård in Frederikshavn, where visitors can view the grounds of the 15th-century estate while the association Danmarks Kulturarv works to preserve the decaying structure. Herregården Hessel in Hvalpsund offers exhibitions based on 1834 census data, and Kokkedal Slot in Brovst is hosting a vintage vehicle meet alongside guided castle tours.
