Manos Gabrielidis, football official, dies at 75

Manos Gabrielidis, a prominent figure in Greek football, has passed away at the age of 75. He had recently been receiving medical treatment in a hospital in Alexandroupoli.

Gabrielidis was a long-standing leader within the football community, serving as the president of EPS Thrace for many years. His involvement with the association spanned decades, including roles as vice president from 1995 to 2002 before assuming the presidency in 2002. He remained active in the role until his recent re-election in March 2026.

Beyond regional football, Gabrielidis held significant positions within the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO), including serving as first vice president and as an honorary member of the Executive Committee. The Hellenic Football Federation and its president, Makis Gagatsis, issued a statement expressing grief over his loss, noting that his passing leaves a significant void in the football family, particularly within the Thrace region.
