La Vuelta stage two travels from Monaco to Manosque

The second stage of the La Vuelta cycling race is taking place today, covering a 214.3-kilometer route from Monaco to Manosque. The stage is described as accidented and is expected to pass through several communes in the Var department, including Figanières, Châteaudouble, Ampus, Aups, and Montmeyan.

The race is expected to arrive in Manosque in the late afternoon, with scheduled times for the peloton passing through various locations in the Dracénie and Haut-Var regions. Local authorities have warned of significant traffic disruptions due to the event.

The route through Manosque carries historical significance in cycling; in 1976, Spanish rider José Luis Viejo achieved a massive solo lead of over 22 minutes during a Tour de France stage that finished in the same location.
