Manpower Minister Yassierli promotes job creation and workforce adaptation in Padang

Indonesian Minister of Manpower Yassierli visited the Bungus Ocean Fisheries Port in Padang, West Sumatra, to support the development of the fisheries sector as a driver for local job creation. During his visit to a fisheries processing plant, Yassierli expressed support for young entrepreneurs in the industry and pledged to assist through increased workforce capacity. The Ministry of Manpower, via the Vocational Training and Productivity Center (BPVP), provides regular training and operational support to workers and fishermen to meet field demands.

In a separate engagement at Baiturrahmah University in Padang, Yassierli addressed the necessity for the younger generation to adapt to a rapidly changing labor market. He emphasized that skills such as technical competence, reskilling, and upskilling are essential to navigate the impacts of artificial intelligence, digitalization, and the green economy. He noted that while technology evolves, human roles in creativity, empathy, and decision-making must be strengthened to work alongside new technologies.
