Manta celebrations face curfew restrictions in Ecuador

The upcoming celebrations for the 104th anniversary of Manta's cantonization coincide with a mandatory curfew in Ecuador. Under Executive Decree 519, a curfew is in effect from 00:00 to 05:00 in the provinces of Manabí, Guayas, Los Ríos, El Oro, and Esmeraldas from November 1 to November 10.

While Manta marks its anniversary with parades and solemn sessions, authorities have not announced official changes to event schedules. Consequently, all festivities must conclude before midnight to comply with the restrictions. The holiday weekend, which includes a mandatory rest day on Friday, November 6, spans from November 6 to November 8.

Additionally, the Ecuadorian Navy is conducting the Solidarex V 2026 multinational exercise in Manta. This practical phase involves vessels from three countries and aims to strengthen international coordination for responding to earthquakes, tsunamis, and floods.
