Porsche increases stake in Manthey Racing to 67%
Porsche AG has increased its stake in Manthey Racing GmbH to 67 percent, deepening its partnership with the Nürburgring-based motorsport specialist. This move is a central component of Porsche’s new “Sportwagenschmiede ’35” strategy and the establishment of its “Home of Sports Cars” organizational concept.
The initiative aims to integrate three core pillars: Performance, through Manthey’s engineering; Exclusiveness, via bespoke programs like Sonderwunsch and Exclusive Manufaktur; and Heritage. The expanded collaboration will focus on developing “few-off” ultra-limited special models, expanding the lineup of Manthey performance kits for road-legal vehicles, and offering exclusive track experiences.
To mark Manthey’s 30th anniversary, the company has also debuted two limited-production race cars: the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup MR 30 and the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport MR 30, with only 15 units of each planned for production. This strategic shift aligns with Porsche’s broader move to prioritize high-margin exclusivity and personalization over mass-market production volumes.
