Mantova launches major street upgrades in Valletta Valsecchi district
The city of Mantova inaugurated a series of public‑space upgrades in the Valletta Valsecchi neighbourhood, covering Via Luzio, Via 8 Marzo and Via Scalarini. The work, financed by Regione Lombardia with roughly €555,000, redeveloped about 8,500 m² to improve accessibility, safety and overall quality of the streets.
The renovations include new cycling‑pedestrian paths, raised crosswalks, refreshed paving with permeable materials, expanded green areas, upgraded lighting and barrier‑free sidewalks. The project, part of an agreement to enhance access to the Danilo Martelli stadium, was executed between November 2025 and June 2026 under architect Eugenio Squassabia. Mayor Andrea Murari cut the ribbon in the presence of municipal assessors, former mayor Mattia Palazzi and local residents, highlighting the transformation of the area into a more inclusive and livable public space.
