Mantova mayor appoints new chief of staff and spokesperson

The municipal council of Mantova approved two staffing measures for Mayor Andrea Murari. Effective 1 September 2026, Annibale Vareschi will assume the role of Chief of Staff, supporting the mayor in governance and coordinating political‑institutional relations with external bodies. On the same date, Valentina Pavesi will become the mayor’s spokesperson, managing media contacts, defining communication strategies and disseminating official messages. Both positions are contracted under private‑law fixed‑term agreements lasting until 31 August 2029, subject to possible extension but not beyond the mayor’s mandate, in accordance with article 90 of Legislative Decree 267/2000. The appointments are intended to strengthen the administration’s support functions.
