Mantova opposition criticizes weekly market relocation

Stefano Nuvolari, the Fratelli d’Italia group leader in the Mantova City Council, has criticized the municipal administration's decision to temporarily relocate the weekly market to the Boma area. The move, intended to accommodate the Festivaletteratura, will shift the market to Piazzale Filangieri on September 10.

Nuvolari argued that the relocation causes economic and social harm to street vendors, bars, and local shops. He also expressed concern that moving the market to the outskirts makes it inaccessible to elderly residents and vulnerable populations in the historic center who lack private transportation. The opposition leader further questioned the effectiveness of recent public works, suggesting that recent urban redevelopment has rendered central spaces unsuitable for hosting the traditional market.
