Manu Bahtidão releases new EP inspired by Northeastern roots

Singer Manu Bahtidão has released the first installment of her new musical project, ‘Cachaça e Paredão, Vol. 1’. Produced by M10 and distributed via ONErpm, the EP features four tracks consisting of original compositions and covers.

The project aims to reconnect the Alagoas-born artist with her Northeastern roots, specifically drawing inspiration from the brega and seresta genres that influenced her childhood. Bahtidão noted that the concept emerged during a visit to her childhood home, where she sought to honor the sounds she grew up hearing.

The lead single, ‘Jurerê (Volta pro Seu Dengo)’, blends brega and seresta elements into a danceable rhythm with lyrics centered on longing and romantic reconciliation. This EP is the first phase of a larger 16-track body of work intended to strengthen her connection with audiences in the Northeast and North regions of Brazil.
