Manuel Alejandro receives Andalusian Arts Award as Salamanca honors literary winners

Several prominent Spanish cultural awards have been announced. Composer Manuel Alejandro has been honored with the second II Premio Andaluz de las Bellas Artes, presented by the Fundación Cajasol and Grupo Joly. During the ceremony, Alejandro reflected on the importance of melody and emotion in music, while expressing concern that the role of the composer is becoming an “extinct species” in an era where many singers write their own material.

In literature, the XXX edition of the Ciudad de Salamanca awards has named Francisco Javier Puebla Rabanal as the winner of the Novel Prize for his work ‘Las carpetas del tiempo’. The novel explores themes of death, memory, and the subjective perception of time. Additionally, José María Higuera González has received the Ciudad de Salamanca Poetry Prize for his collection ‘Flores de plástico’.
