FC Augsburg loses to SC Freiburg in Bundesliga match

FC Augsburg suffered a 1:2 home defeat against SC Freiburg at the WWK Arena. Michael Gregoritsch opened the scoring for Augsburg in the 18th minute, but Freiburg secured a comeback victory through goals from Igor Matanović in the 65th minute and Cyriaque Irié in the 85th minute.

Following the match, Augsburg coach Manuel Baum expressed significant frustration, stating that the loss was “not to be accepted” given the team's strong performance for much of the game. Baum criticized his players for failing to secure a second or third goal early on and for the manner in which they conceded the decisive goals. This result marks Augsburg's sixth consecutive match without a victory.

SC Freiburg, meanwhile, improved to 16 points, maintaining their third-place position in the Bundesliga standings behind Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
