Manuel ‘Flaco’ Ibáñez recalls 1980s Ciudad Victoria

Actor Manuel ‘Flaco’ Ibáñez reflected on his experiences in Ciudad Victoria during the mid-1980s. While filming the movie ‘Perseguido por la ley’ at the Tamatán prison in July 1985, Ibáñez expressed admiration for the city's cleanliness.

During an interview at the time, Ibáñez noted that the well-maintained streets and sidewalks reminded him of Mérida, often referred to as ‘the white city.’ The recollection also highlights the era of Governor Emilio Martínez Manautou, during which the city utilized specialized sweeping machines to maintain its avenues.
