Manuel Gonzalez and Maximo Quiles win Hungarian Moto2 and Moto3 races

Manuel Gonzalez (Kalex) clinched his third Moto2 victory of the 2026 season at the Hungarian Grand Prix, starting from fourth on the grid and beating Czech rider Filip Salač and Australian Senna Agius. He also set a new race lap record of 1 min 40.893 s on lap 17. All riders used standard Pirelli tyres – soft SC1 in the front and supersoft SCX in the rear.

In Moto3, Maximo Quiles (KTM) secured his fifth win of the season after the race was red‑flagged on the final lap. The podium was completed by fellow KTM riders David Almansa and Álvaro Carpe. The majority of competitors chose medium SC2 tyre compounds for the rear wheel, while a few opted for soft SC1.

Both races were run under unusually high track temperatures – around 52 °C for Moto2 and 48 °C for Moto3 – making the events eight seconds faster than the previous year in Moto2 and roughly three‑tenths of a second per lap quicker in Moto3. The tyre performance was praised for its adaptability across the wide temperature range.
