Manuel Jiménez celebrates 25 years of Santo Domingo Este

Former mayor and political leader Manuel Jiménez held a public event at Chencha Espacio Abierto to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Santo Domingo Este municipality. The celebration, held on October 16, brought together community leaders, business owners, and local residents.

Jiménez highlighted the historical significance of the date, noting that Law 163-01, promulgated by President Hipólito Mejía on October 16, 2001, established the municipality. During the event, which featured music and fireworks, Jiménez expressed a commitment to making the area a safer, more orderly, and prosperous city.

The chosen venue, Chencha Espacio Abierto, is a recreational space located near the mouth of the Ozama River that was established during Jiménez's tenure as mayor.
