Manuel Menchón's Lorca Documentary Premieres at San Sebastián Film Festival

The documentary "La Voz Quebrada" by director Manuel Menchón, exploring the last love of poet Federico García Lorca, was presented in a gala screening at the 74th San Sebastián International Film Festival, which runs from 18 to 26 September 2026. The film, which accesses Lorca’s personal notebooks, materials and memories preserved by Juan Ramírez de Lucas, will be released in Spanish cinemas on 16 October 2026 through distributor Sideral. The project features a cast led by Álvaro Morte as Lorca, alongside Francesco Carril, Joaquín Notario, Pedro Casablanc, Verónica Sánchez, Víctor Clavijo, María Galiana and Alberto San Juan. The historical relevance of the source material was highlighted in 2012 when the Spanish Congress unanimously approved its preservation and opening for research.
