Manuel Zelaya denies rumors of death during recovery in Mexico

Former Honduran President Manuel Zelaya and the Libertad y Refundación (Libre) party have denied social media rumors claiming he has passed away. The false reports, which circulated under headlines such as “ÚLTIMO MOMENTO”, suggested Zelaya died in Mexico City.

Zelaya confirmed he is alive and continuing his recovery in Mexico following recent cardiac issues. He has been in Mexico for specialized medical studies after undergoing surgery in Honduras in early September. The Libre party issued a statement describing the reports as “false and malicious,” asserting that Zelaya remains stable, is making positive progress, and continues to coordinate with the party's political structure.
