Manufac and Antlers Hometown DMO launch Locoguru digital map

Manufac Co., Ltd. has partnered with the Antlers Hometown DMO to launch ‘Locoguru,’ a participatory digital map designed to promote tourism and economic revitalization in the Rokko area of Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.

The platform utilizes the ‘LocPic’ location-based UGC system, allowing supporters, residents, and visitors to post information about local gourmet spots and sightseeing attractions directly onto a map. The initiative aims to address the challenge of limited visitor circulation beyond specific event venues by aggregating information for five cities: Kashima, Itako, Kamisu, Namegata, and Hokota.

Key features include a QR-code-based access system that requires no app downloads or membership registration. To encourage engagement, users can earn points for posting photos and comments, which can be used to enter lotteries for local specialty products. Additionally, local businesses in the area can access free business accounts to post real-time updates and recommendations to travelers.
