Manufacturers Association of Nigeria discusses industrial policy and Dangote Refinery IPO
The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) held its 54th Annual General Meeting, focusing on industrial policy and investment opportunities. During the event, representatives from the Dangote Group engaged with manufacturers regarding the ongoing Public Initial Public Offering (IPO) for the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals. The IPO, which runs from September 14 to October 13, offers investors the chance to participate in one of Africa’s largest industrial projects.
MAN President Francis Meshioye called for the effective implementation of the National Industrial Policy 2025 to transform Nigeria into an African industrial hub. He emphasized that sustainable growth requires consistent public policy, improved infrastructure, and effective government-private sector collaboration.
Additionally, industry leaders raised concerns regarding the rising cost of business. Specifically, the Chairman of the MAN Sharada/Challawa Branch, Alhaji Nura Madugu, highlighted the burden of multiple and double taxation imposed by different tiers of government. Other significant challenges cited by manufacturers include high energy costs, inadequate infrastructure, expensive financing, foreign exchange volatility, and insecurity.
